1. What Data We Collect, and Why

Interviews: if you take part in a recorded interview to be broadcast on Radio La Manga, we keep the interview audio, your name (or the name you'd like to be credited under), and any contact details you give us to arrange the recording. We use this to broadcast the interview and to keep it available for listen-again in the Interviews section of our website.

Voice or text messages sent to our listener line on WhatsApp: before you send us your message, our website asks whether you're happy for us to broadcast it, by choosing "Yes" or "No". That answer is automatically included in the WhatsApp message you send us. We only broadcast messages marked "Yes". If you choose "No", we keep your message privately and never broadcast it.

Requests and dedications sent through our request form: we use these to read or play them on air, and/or publish them on our website or social media, depending on what you tell us when you send them.

Messages sent through our contact form: we only use these to reply to whatever you've asked.

Cookies and tracking tools: this website doesn't currently use any of these. If that ever changes, we'll update this page to say so.

2. Why We're Allowed to Do This

We only play your message on air if you selected "Yes" on our website before sending it, showing you agreed to it being broadcast. For ordinary enquiries, we use your details because you gave them to us for that purpose, and because we need them to reply to you.

3. How Long We Keep Your Data

  • Interviews stay available for listen-again for up to 12 months from first broadcast. After that, they're archived or deleted, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
  • If your message isn't used on air, we delete it within 14 days.
  • If it is used on air, we delete the file (audio or text) within 30 days of it being broadcast. After that, we just keep a short, dated note that you agreed for your message to be broadcast — as proof we obtained your agreement.
  • Requests and dedications sent through the Request Form are kept for 30 days from submission, or until they're broadcast or published, whichever happens sooner.
  • Contact Form messages are kept only as long as it takes to reply to you, then deleted.

4. What You Can Ask Us for, at Any Time

  • To tell you what data we hold about you.
  • To correct something if it's wrong.
  • To delete your data.
  • To stop using your data for something specific.
  • To take back a "yes" you've already given us — for example, if you agreed to let us play your message and then change your mind.

To ask for any of these, just email us at rlm@lmcemail.com.

If you're ever unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can also complain directly to Spain's data protection authority, the AEPD, at aepd.es.

5. Who We Share Data With

We don't sell or give away your personal data to anyone, and we never use it for other companies' advertising. The only situation where another company might see your data is when a company that helps us run the website or the station — for example, the company that hosts our website — needs to store it as part of that technical job. Even then, that company can only use it to provide that specific service to us, never for their own purposes, and they can't pass it on to anyone else. The only other exception would be if a proper legal authority required us to hand it over by law.

6. Changes to This Page

If we ever change anything in this policy, the latest version will always be right here on this page.
